This Little Modern Poem

Modern industrial
Catch a piggy by its toe
Clean up pipe and giant screw
Into place and brick and pour
Cement and laquer paint it pretty
Clean enough to lick but not really

Modern stone age
If it shouts let it go
Plastics + your bleachy water
Makes your ribs sticky
But the tub looks real
And the prints are getting so good
You can hardly recognize a fake
Or synthetic or faux or whatever
It's marble as far you're concerned
Might as well be
Those stone shingles are next
Traditionalist
Rub the oak

Modern office
All the way home
Put together with a glue gun
Glass is sealed tight
Tight tight tight
And you are placed inside
But particle person on top of
Particle board with
Formica and protective edgework
Makes the whole thing dynamic
Convoy commandeer vet
5 gallon jug
Beep beep down the street
A loaf of bread a quart of milk a stick of butter
It's all kind of ruined
Not ruins
Like Akrotiri
It's just ruined
