In the wake of something beautiful

and
wonderfully destructive
There is peace in the diamond
folding in on itself
making a straight line
and then a wave
Rippled into so many jagged edges
So many times over
like so many flakes of obsidian
scaled and shaled
Then driven toward the floor
somehow

That horizontal plane
Making triangles
Into more than
Doubled then
Squared again
Should be honored
for some amount of time
say, a moment
or, 15 seconds
maybe ten years
Before looking away
turning around
joining a parade
of fish
or a school of mountains
or a mission of pelicans

After a brief introduction
giving up
that sameness being
partly human and partly egg
still somewhat unformed and juicy
Absorbable
Super tangible
Incriminating

Then strangers
making livings
become obsolete
Paper napkins
systematic representations of solarity
meager mail
Undeliverable
Undesirable
Underwater
