A Loss for Words

A loss for words
Only makes sense
If something has also
Scared the Dickens
Right out of you

A loss of words
Is a much scarier scenario
Could be Alzheimer's
Could be stroke
Something bad happened

And is that Charles Dickens
That gets scared right out of you?
What if you've never had any Dickens
To begin with?
Or do we all
Have a little bit of Dickens
Inside us
Whether we know it
Or not?

There are lost words
Floating around out there
Heretofore, whence and whom
Are on their way out
Except among lawyers
Who are arcane creatures themselves
And not necessarily keepers of arcanity
Like Druids and Amish

Words on the rise
Words to look out for
Hot words
Slick words
Are often words of convenience
And isn't it convenience
That best services words themselves

It is the art of words
That brings forth wars and villainy
Unrest and fallow
The rules of words and their usage
The style of words
The lack of having enough
Words
Strong words
Men not keeping their words
And words not holding enough meaning

It is the grunt work of words
Go
Tend
Feed
That seems to keep the true value of words
In their purest form
The isolation of
A word
To dictate a situation
In as few words
As possible
That's when a word
Can truly be
A word
