Transient Jungle

Pacing
As an act of defiance
Does no one any good
Except that hearts beat faster
When pushed to the edge
Sitting down would cause the pressure
To rise above the neckline
I will tear your eyes out
If you ever
Talk harshly
To my wife
Again

An officer
Of what law
On God's green earth
Not a physical law
A natural law -
A properly developed law
Where you think
Before you speak or act
You overgrown
Unsympathetic
Orangutan

I couldn't help
But beat the bars
On the cage
Hollering with teeth and throat
Exposed
The red a sign
That goes way back
To days before
One had to wonder
Which side of the cage
One was on

Love this poem! That woman has it coming. Best of luck to her, when she's waiting for us again tomorrow.
