In Being

In being a rocky coastline
I think they call it craggy
Oft mistaken for crabby
But could be both
And, perhaps, also riddled with crabs

In being the obelisk
Where one can teeter at the tip
All things sliding off
Edgy, could be said
Or stiff

In being a trough or monocle
Not knowing how exactly
Wanting to be a kaleidoscope
Or glorious buffet
There seems to something missing
Crumbs pushed over the side
Things that can't swim

In being a lifeboat
One must take things seriously
So much so that often
A lifeboat can be mistaken for a vessel
Of greater magnitude
A cruise ship
Or ecosystem
