Sudoku Champ Solves World's Problems
Parenthetically
In traditional one through nine fashion
A forty-five minute train ride
Becomes a giant thumb twiddle
And while some wrestle demonic numbers
I am just as guilty with words
Not cross words
Although sometimes they are
Not back words
Although sometimes reminiscent
I can't help but feel if we could harness this time
Collectively
To solve some global problems
Where is our Socrates!
Where is our community
These sences long since dulled
By the squeaky sound of wheels on track
It takes all we've got just to watch the gap
Sling a dirty look
And get closer to the door
Guilty!
I am guilty too
All this time
All this energy
Just to watch the fire burn
Just a little longer
No super-consciousness
No collective brain
Hemlock!
And we're off to work
Hustling down the street
Dispersing into a thousand parts
Like a broken vein
A fountain of sparks
A swarm of regret
Is what it always looks like from here
But inside that mess
That scramble of hair and flesh and cotton
It appears as if life could be solved like a puzzle
A full feature jumble
Connect four!
I win!
