There are no poems today
The doors have been closed for renovations
Please take all inquiries to the homeless and displaced
Who would be well to dance and shimmy at the chance for some attention
Throw them a dollar
For those of you with mixed intentions
Allow them to drink it
Shoot it
Suck it up
In whatever fashion they prefer
From a gravy boat if they can afford it
For if they are fakers
They are one of us
If they go home to a palace but feign disparity
They are one of us
If they are lazy and do not want to work
They are one of us
If they skirted the law and now must lay low
They are one of us
None of us have struggled so much that we could shun this character
For if we had
We would have already given it all away
All but for the greed and hunger
There are no poems today
