My Utilities

Sick of gas
Ships of gas
Pools of shimmering rainbows
Puddles of tar
Dirty, simmering
But, as the pain goes
This too shall pass:
I love my car

Heating oil
Feeding oil
Spooky tank of fire
Chipping paint
I can only thank
That which I admire
A crime to foil
Because clean, it ain't

Field of grass
Yard of grass
A metropolis turned upside down
Nurturing arthropoda
Scorched and burned
To save water for my town
As for the slugs, alas
The tables have turned

Plugs of power
Electrical tower
Buzzing like a giant pregnant bee
Feeding the beast coal
Defiant, indignant
What we can't see
In our finest hour:
The hidden toll
