Otherwise, Strangers

Deep calm on an otherwise dog's birthday
Another festival of inclusion he said with his coat
Human resources would be down to talk to him about that separately and
in private
In her private sanctum there is chimey music
Church bells for an otherwise bleak apostle
Her feet sometimes remind her of ducking under branches
Her head sometimes refrains her from moving faster than a figgy delicacy
Against all odds she may extend the lines that mark her eyes
To signify the rings of a tree
Against all walls she will lean until something picks her back up
Like Pixies or one of Andy Warhol's bands
Otherwise
She will wait this one out
A decent set for an otherwise mediocre vibration salesman
He said he would never sit close enough to breathe in her perfume
vacuum
Once on two feet
There is such equal nonchalance and unforced linear behavior that
They should be fine
They should both be fine
He may remember something painful to say as jacket
She may get an itch on her arm that reminds her of wool
But otherwise
OK
In a brief interlude his parents respected one another
Or so he says to his outerwear
She doubts that respect is a quality two fake fish can have
Otherwise why would they act so gay
Always pretending to be so happy with the falsified rubber grin
And the stiff hands that can't open jars
These qualities remind her to kill her instincts
The ones that would otherwise lead her to drink and drive her hair
into a squid
He prefers to call lemonade and iced tea mixed together an Arnold Palmer
She prefers to have an otherwise uneventful day
He can't promise her that it will get better
Not without saying it from his plaid liner
She can't convince him to collect his things in a timely manner and
exit the burning building gracefully
If he doesn't move she might break his beak with an eyeliner applicator
If he moves
He might make
This otherwise normal day
Into a non-traditional holiday
His ribs might bubble and break
Her patience may get bored
He will fiddle with headphones
She will brand him with a wicked fireplace match
They may go to work today
Otherwise
The park is lovely when the sum of it's parts
Is illuminated by a fiery ball
Where a spinning on the axis
Is an event to glorify
Even if
You'd prefer not to
