Across the Street

On one side:
elaborate monkey bars
as far as the eye can see the arm can reach
shiny steel and well kept
a scientific wonderland masquerading as a dead robot
pretending to sleep but very alive
like a giant abacus
with no moving parts
so very Gaga
so ultimately Geiger
so plainly tronic

On the other side:
ivy crawls quietly for small ears
a whirling woosh over time
on trees so sturdy
popping up every twenty or so feet
from perfect squares
then fence and engage
things placed
at the right height
enough room to minimize tragedy
but compact enough to contain on one block
a borough corner
with some color variation but mostly rust
some powdery metal
cracked black rubber
green canopy
a good place to start developing
ideas about robots
counting things within reason
and tackling achievable monkeying
