Cleft

Sharing
All we can do
From navel to cave
Two feet in the grave
Always at least one
Until we can't bare to share
One more drop of tethered sun
Running amok
Like ants in a fire
Sharing every last breath
On one long tightwire
Never knowing our steps
Circle back around the depth
Of one long rest
Remembering the crest
Just in time to feel the buckle -
That heft, undertow
Cleft
