Troy Davis Can't Trend

When death becomes you
And your cheeks are drawn in
Like cups of light
With spots and flash bulbs firing from chambers
When all things seem impersonal
And fleeting
And the universe seems so vast
That you lose yourself in the temporary nature of things
And the Buddhists win
And the terrorists win
And everyone wins
You win too

When your good nature
Leads to ignoring good decisions
Leads to ignoring others
Leads to ignorance
When all the roads to your house
Are lined with trees or wild nature
And other homes are set back
And you pass a park
Or perhaps a gourmet grocery
Or perhaps a quaint inn
You may have lost your credibility

When leaves on a tree are easily swayed
And a few get released to the breeze
And this is nature
And mulch
And peat
And scotch
You may have lost your mind

When there are doubts
About death
Give credit to life
Sometimes it knows best
