Lap Time

Remember when we had those things
Those things that made us who we were
Who we were was especially important
Especially important to separate us
Separating us from that which we are not
We are not that anymore

We are nothing anymore
Nothing if we are not that
Nothing if that's what we've become
We are nothing together
Nothing apart
Essentially nothing
On an essential, very elemental level
Nothing is all we ever were
A lot of space
Between a few prime charges
A lot of jumping around
To get to the same nothing
Where landing happens
At a particular time
Not too long
Soon it's off again
That mark
Makes things real
Still really nothing

When you say scale
You speak on the structure of cities
Tony speaks of fish
And their inherent weight
Which is really cocaine talk
And also relates to cities
In some roundabout way
I speak to that which sloughs off
Becomes you
When you become me
With all that nothing in between
Meeting at corners
Where several axes meet
To create an action
That happens in a flash
By way of flash
In so much as light travels
In waves
On an axis
We created
Out of nothing
