Dram Brooklyn Dirigible

Your lonely excursion
Met with no general excitement
The street does not rise up
Doesn't care to meet
More feet

Your brow beat down
So that the bottom of eyeballs
Find the hydrants only
A wishful space
For hopeful, tired cars
Faithful blinkers going on and then off again
Willing another spot into existence
On another block
Three streets down

Your walk back from the store
Just as uneventful
Drowning rubber soles in sidewalk runoff
The flower man spraying down the garbage patch for his neighbor
The neighbor sharing chum
And just like the trading of phosphorus and hydrogen
The pavement is shared
But no more than half
Or else a scowl
Indirect
But out there
In the universe
Getting sucked up by window sills
Covered in carbon silt
For at least another moon cycle
